Mercedes-Maybach Unveils Super Swanky 750-HP Electric Convertible
The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Cabriolet has just debuted as the fanciest
droptop ever.
Making its debut at 2017 Monterey Car Week, the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6
Cabriolet is a convertible version of the concept the German automaker
debuted at the same event last year. Designed as an electric car, the
ultra-luxurious convertible has 750 horsepower, says Mercedes-Maybach,
with a range of more than 200 miles (500 kilometers) on the generous New
European Driving Cycle (NEDC). The performance is good for a
zero-to-60-mph time of under four seconds, while its top speed is
electronically restricted to 155 mph.
Like the coupe before it, the convertible concept is quite long,
measuring 18.7 feet in length along with being 6.9 feet wide and 4.4 feet
tall. But this time around, instead of a flashy red finish, the German
automaker decided to go with a nautical blue metallic paint with chrome
accents. On all four corners are newly designed 24-inch wheels with a
rose gold center lock.
As a convertible, Mercedes-Maybach says the Vision 6 Cabriolet features a
360-degree open-air luxury lounge thanks to a light wing that flows in a
curve across the door trim and the center tunnel into the seat landscape.
The cabin has contrasting crystal white Nappa leather with interwoven
rose gold threads, matching the finish on the center lock. Things get
really fancy with an open-pore wood floor with inlaid aluminum, giving
the interior a similar feel to a yacht.

The concept also previews the automaker’s future technologies, with the
Vision 6 Cabriolet designed to “anticipate the needs of its passengers
and to provide the required information and solutions in real time,”
says Mercedes-Maybach. The cabin boasts touch-only controls and an
intelligent navigation linked to an appointment calendar, as well as a
Concierge function that makes it possible to talk to the concierge like a
human being, without having to use predefined voice commands. There’s
also the latest generation of biometric sensors that record the state of
mind and health status of the passengers.
There is word yet on whether the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Coupe or
Cabriolet Concepts are heading to production.

explains Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer of Daimler AG.
