Hi 目前在OPT 第一年, 2月2021需要进入STEM OPT
由于公司目前WFH 延期到明年7月
询问HR是否能够去夏威夷工作,
前天概要： 公司在CA, 我一直住在NY, 公司也file NY tax
以下是HR回复：
As far as you going to Hawaii, the first question I would have is whether or not you are on a work visa. If you are on a work visa and are going ONLY for vacation then that is no problem but if you are planning to work from Hawaii for any period of time that you are there then you may need to file for an amendment to your work visa (which would require management approval and would run the dept about $4,000). In all honesty, to pay this for a short amount of time would not be cost effective. Now if
you aren’t on any type of work visa then that is no issue. If you planned to work from Hawaii then we would not adjust tax to tax in Hawaii and you would continue to be taxed in NY until you officially arrived in CA.
1. HR指的 amendment 应该只有限定H1B吧？ OPT我不记得有相关的规定
2. 如果我在Hawaii 1-3个月，依旧留有NY residents, 只有taxed NY 是可以的吗？
