男子与女子的职业网球实力有多少差距？１９７３年，美国上演了两场“性别之战”，而 B
illie Jean King 与 Bobby Riggs 的交手，随着同年多项女性争取平权事件纷起，让这场
对决更显瞩目而富具意义。
１９７３年，曾被视为男子４０年代世界第１的 Riggs 发下狂语，表示５５岁的他能击败
任何一位女子顶尖球员。当时 King 婉拒邀约、由２２座大满贯单打头衔的澳洲好手 Marga
ret Court 接下挑战，但母亲节加州一役，Riggs 的放短高吊令她疲于奔命、最终以 2-6 1
-6 败下阵来。
击败 Court 之举让 Riggs 更加嘲弄女网，并再度向 King 发出战帖，这次不仅祭出赢者全
拿的１０万美元奖金、还吸引美国广播公司在黄金时段转播。９月２０日周四、WTA 成立刚
满３个月，King 在同周还有职业比赛的情况中踏入休士顿太空巨蛋场（Houston Astrodome
），这场 Billie vs Bobby 的对决令全场３万人与全球近９千万观众惊艳

Nick Kyrgios confirms that he will play a ‘Battle of the Sexes’ match against
Aryna Sabalenka, during the first week of January:
“I'm very excited about that match, she has a great personality and she's a gre
at tennis player.
“I find it funny that, really, she thinks she can win. Do you really think she
can beat me? He's not going to do it.
“Do you really think I'm going to have to play 100%? I will try to be focused b
ecause I represent the men, I think I will win 6-2.”
