A two-time Grand Slam semifinalist, the 27-year-old Czech star posted her
decision on Instagram.
Following an initial retirement in 2010, Vaidisova returned to the game four
years later, pushing Simona Halep to three sets last spring at the Miami
Open. But physical issues have stunted what had the potential to be a major
comeback for the veteran, who only played six tournaments in 2016, retiring
in each of her final two losses.
