这个有些令人傻眼的暱称其实是源自于 climate.gov 的 ENSO Blog

July 9 有篇名为 "July 2015 El Niño update: Bruce Lee?" 的文章，
作者 Emily Becker 在最后一段这样写：
Tropical storms and hurricanes have been given names since the
early 1950s, which helps to clarify communications. In recent
years, the Weather Channel has attracted attention by naming
winter storms, perhaps with similar intentions. “So why don’t
we name ENSO events?” you ask. Excellent question! I propose
we do name them, starting this year. Since I think we should have
a theme to the names, and the theme should be action movie stars,
I hereby designate the 2015-2016 event as El Niño Bruce Lee.
所以很明显的只是她个人想要用一位“动作巨星”来形容这次的圣婴现象；
至于 Godzilla El Nino 这个暱称则是来自某位 NASA 人员
其实这些都不是最近几天才出现的“名词”，不知为何现在突然上了新闻
有可能是前两天 NOAA CPC 发布每月例行性的 ENSO diagnostics，
对于此次圣婴发展强度与持续时间的描述又引起了媒体的注意
值得注意的是：这个 blog 虽然挂在 climate.gov 之下，
旁边却也有很清楚的免责声明（disclaimer）写着：
Posts reflect the views of the bloggers themselves and not
necessarily Climate.gov, NOAA, or Columbia University/IRI.
所以这些内容都不代表官方立场，读者自己看看就好，不用太认真
