官方的题目是: What is important from scientific discoveries and technological
inventions
A)168字. 稍微附和一个讲者意见.三个小例子.小Essay格式
Different people hold contrasting options about the most important scientific
discovery or technological invention from the last two hundred years, and I
agree with Claire's view that medical process is pivotal in improving people’
s health. I would add that pharmaceutical innovation plays the most critical
role in advancing public health. For instance, Louis Pasteur's creation of
the first rabies vaccines not only cured those inflicted with the
life-threatening disease at his time, but also lead to the development of
future vaccines for pathogens such as the small pox virus and the polio
virus. Another interesting case is the development of the cocktail therapy
for AIDS, a disease that took thousands of lives in 1980s; with the
aforementioned treatment, patients can now function regularly like all
others. The latest example is the medication Ozempic that helped patients
with diabetes and chronic obesity to lose weight quickly. In conclusion, with
the rapid development of modern drugs, the life quality and expectancy have
become significantly higher than those 200 years ago.
