许多同学在写整合写作时,常碰到一个问题。自己听力实力还不错,听力的
点都有听到了,也了解教授反驳的论点,并且笔记也都有记下一些关键字帮
助自己回忆,但是分数总是不高呢?很多同学会开始觉得是不是写的不够
“精简”,开始东减一点,西删一些,搞到最后整个论点就只有机个关键
字,但凑起来语意不够完整,自己重新看一遍发现自己也看不懂。
以下举两个同学的作文当范例,分别是TPO27以及34, 怕被爆雷的同学可以
先做做看这两回,再看看自己是不是也犯了同样的错误。
先拿第一位同学TPO27的第二论点为例:
Secondly, the passage suggests that volcanic eruptions could have
caused the Little Ice Age. On the contrary, the professor
seriously refutes the hypothesis because there was no report about
those eruptions. To be more specific, if a large striking had
happened at that time, people should have had a visual report for
gray or brown snow. Consequently, the Little Ice Age does not
cause by strong eruptions.
这点听力部分是说如果是火山爆发造成Little Ice Age的话,释放出来的灰
应该会产生一些特别的现象像是colorful sunsets或是灰的或黄的雪。但没
有人有看到类似的情况,所以很显然的当时的火山爆发程度不至于能够造成
Little Ice Age.
中文先顺过一遍的话,应该就比较能轻易的发现上面这段同学漏写了什么。
只要在”To be more specific, if a large striking had happened at
that time, people should have had a visual report for gray or
brown snow.” 这句后面再补一句: However, there was no report of
such visual effects. 就能让整段语意更完整。
再换一个例子, TPO34第一论点:
First of all, the passage states that the sea cow may been over-
hunted by groups of native Siberian people. Yet, the professor
seriously challenges the statement by arguing that the population
of Siberian people is quite small. Thus, they don't need to hunt
lots of sea cow to survive. Plus, Steller's sea cow is 9 meter
long, and hunting one sea cow can be sufficient fodd supply for
Siberian people.
这点原本听力部分主要讲的是sea cow是很大的动物,9 meters long, 而且
Siberian people人也没有那么多,所以只要猎捕几只就能喂饱所有人。应
该要再补一句,所以不可能是Siberain people过度猎捕造成sea cow绝种。
同学应该不难发现,以上两位同学的两小段都是同样的问题,听力的点都听
到了,笔记也都记下了,但最后的答案就是差那么一点点,这真的很可惜,
因为这两位同学也不是听不懂,笔记也没有来不及写,也没有忘了什么重
点,但差了一两句话论点不够完整的话,分数就很容易因次被扣掉一些。
如何避免考试犯这个错呢?
建议同学整合写作平常练习一定要压在18分钟内写完,才能留两分钟重新再
把自己文章看过一遍。通常这些少一两句话的问题,其实自己检查一遍都能
看得出来,所以尽快在18分钟内写完后,留时间重看一遍,有发现类似的问
题,就赶快再把他补齐,就能在考试时避免类似问题发生了!
另外上面有提到有中文顺过一遍,也是个很好的方式,当然在考试时没有那
么多时间作这件事,所以建议平常练习时,先把刚刚教授讲的内容用中文顺
过一遍,就会发现逻辑很通顺,再把中文转换成英文打出来就好了。
