Samsung 开始量产为下代显卡而设的 GDDR6 内存芯片

如之前预告的那样，在 Samsung 开始量产基于第二代 10nm 制程的 8Gb DDR4 RAM 芯片
后不久，16Gb 的 GDDR6 内存芯片现在也已经拍马赶到了。早些时候官方公布了开始大
规模量产这款组件的消息，据介绍该款同样基于 10nm 制程打造的产品“将会在先期上市
的下一代显卡、显示系统中扮演至关重要的角色”。
具体来说，它的数据传输速度能达到 72 GB/s，几乎两倍于 8Gb GDDR5 RAM 芯片的表现
。与此同时功耗则下降了约 35%，而且制造生产率上涨了 30%，在同样时间内生产线将有
望产出更多的芯片。这最后一点在如今显卡被比特币狂潮越推越贵的大环境下，应该是广
大消费者最乐于见到的变化了吧？

You can start getting pumped about the next generation of graphics cards, as
Samsung has announced that it's building the first-ever 16-gigabit GDDR6
chips using its 10-nanometer class technology. The news isn't a complete
surprise, as Samsung previously said that GDDR6 was coming when it unveiled
8-gigabit DDR4 RAM chips last month and won a CES 2018 Innovation Award in
November.
