Junior DNA Sequencer Service Engineer
SeqGen, Inc has an immediate opening for an entry level Junior DNA Sequencer
Service Engineer.
No prior experience is required. An intensive six month training program will
be provided.
Candidate must be willing to travel and have a good working
knowledge of troubleshooting as well as general electronic components.
Candidate must also have a legal working status to start the job - i.e OPT

Our customers include but are not limited to pharmaceutical, biotech,
and forensic companies, universities , and research institutes.
We are dedicated to providing contract service to our customers world-wide.
We also refurbish / resell new or used lab equipment such as DNA sequencers,
real-time PCR, thermo-cyclers, and distribute some sequencer reagents.
Requirement:
BS or MS degree in a biological science, chemistry, engineering, computer,
or related fields.
Valid driver's license and good driving record.
Knowledge of electronics, mechanics, and good troubleshooting abilities.
Molecular Biology is a plus.
Fluent in English conversation and able to communicate with customers via
phone and email.
Training will be provided in Los Angeles, CA.
We will sponsor H1 working visa for qualified employee.
Job duties:
1. Study manufacturer's service manuals and follow the standard
procedure to complete the service.
2. Learn how to refurbish an instrument, which includes disassembly,
reassembly, replacement of parts and troubleshooting.
3. Travel to customer sites in a timely and economic manner by air,
car, or public transportation.
4. Perform on-site service for installation, preventive maintenance,
troubleshooting & repair. Train users on basic instrument operation
and maintenance.
5. Repair or reinstall computer and applications software.
6. Answer customer questions and provide remote assistance via email,
phone or remote access.
This job is customer service oriented and always has last minute emergency
calls. Although we try to avoid weekend work, it really depends on the urgency
of our customers.
Over-time work will be compensated with paid time off.
Salary & Benefit:
Competitive salary starting from 40K + bonus, based on your experience and
qualifications.
Probation period is 6-months, and after probation 10~15% raise may apply.
Annual salary adjustment may be 3~8% based upon performance.
Company covers all travel expense (airline, car rental, gas, hotel, meal).
Company cars are available in company office.
Company phone with data plan and laptop will be provided after 3 months.
Company's 401K plan available after 3 months.
