(1) @Yankees: Prior to tonight’s game, the Yankees made the following
roster moves:
‧ Signed LHP Nick Ramirez (#63) to a Major League contract and selected
him to the active roster.
‧ Optioned RHP Greg Weissert to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Additionally, the Yankees transferred the rehab assignment of
OF Harrison Bader from Double-A Somerset to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
(2) @BryanHoch: Carlos Rodon was scheduled to play catch again today at
the Yankees' complex in Tampa, Aaron Boone said. The hope is that Rodon can
return to tossing from a mound on Friday.
(3) @BryanHoch: Here's a stat from the @MLBNetwork research department:
The Yankees' bottom half of the order has struggled. Only the Royals (.530)
have a worse OPS from their #5-to-#9 spots combined than the Yankees (.570)
in MLB this season.
3.1. @BryanHoch: Also worth noting: Aaron Judge is batting .138/.235/.276
(4-29 AB) with one homer, three RBI, and 12 strikeouts in eight games since
Giancarlo Stanton went on the IL (hamstring).
(4) @MaxTGoodman: The Yankees' pitching staff has allowed 3.39 runs per game
this season with a 3.16 team ERA, both the second-best mark in baseball so far.
The Yankees' offense is hitting .225(ranked 27th in MLB), scoring only 4.09
runs per game (22nd in MLB)
(5) @MaxTGoodman: The Yankees have lost each of their last six series-opening
games.
This is just their second time losing back-to-back games this season.
