the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for LHP Jordan Montgomery.

(3) @Yankees: The New York Yankees today announced that they have acquired
minor league right-handed pitcher Clayton Beeter from the Los Angeles Dodgers
in exchange for outfielder Joey Gallo.
(4) @JeffPassan: Yankees were talking about a number of starting pitchers
with other teams, sources said, and Jordan Montgomery is the one who goes to
St. Louis for center fielder Harrison Bader.
Cardinals get another arm after Jose Quintana. And Yankees get one of the best
fielding CF in MLB.
4.1. @BryanHoch: CF Harrison Bader, who the Yankees are reportedly acquiring
for Jordan Montgomery, is on the IL with plantar fasciitis. He will be shut
down for several weeks and is wearing a walking boot, but the Cardinals had
said they expected him to return before the end of the season.
4.2. @MaxTGoodman: Takeaways from the Jordan Montgomery trade:
- Harrison Bader is an incredible defensive outfielder with one more season
of control. He could start in CF next year, fits the defense/speed trend
- With no Montgomery, Clarke Schmidt might finally have his chance in the
rotation
(5) @JeffPassan: The Los Angeles Dodgers are in agreement on a deal to acquire
outfielder Joey Gallo from the New York Yankees, a source tells ESPN,
confirming @ragazzoreport. The trade, the source says, is pending a medical
review and should be completed soon.
5.1. @JackCurryYES: As expected, Yankees have dealt Joey Gallo. He's headed
to Dodgers for minor league pitcher Clayton Better, a former 2d round pick.
@ragazzoreport was first with the news. Gallo was so certain he'd be traded
that he was packing his bags in the clubhouse yesterday.
