roster moves:
‧Reinstated RHP Miguel Castro (#30) from the restricted list.
‧Designated RHP Ryan Weber for assignment.
(2) @lindseyadler: Hal Steinbrenner said during a video press conference that
he has not discussed a contract extension with Brian Cashman yet, who is on
an expiring contract.
"I have tremendous confidence in Cash," Steinbrenner said.
(3) @lindseyadler: Hal Steinbrenner on the Aaron Judge contract sitch:
"No matter what happens during the season, we're not going to give any updates.
We're just not going to do it. I mean, I completely agree with Aaron that in
no way, shape, or form can this be a distraction."
3.1. @lindseyadler: Hal Steinbrenner on Brian Cashman announcing the terms of
the contract extension they offered Aaron Judge: "We knew that was going to
get out anyway. And as Cash said, we wanted to be as transparent as possible."
(4) @MaxTGoodman: Jameson Taillon's first 10 starts of the season:
2.30 ERA (15 ER in 58.2 IP)
Taillon's next six starts (including tonight): 6.26 ERA (21 ER in 30.2 IP)
4.1. @MaxTGoodman: The one consistent part of Taillon's game all year is his
lack of walks. No walks tonight, only 11 in 89.1 IP this season.
His 1.11 walk per nine is the best in baseball.
(5) @MaxTGoodman: Matt Carpenter is now 6-for-12 with RISP since joining
the #Yankees.
He's hitting .304 overall with 8 HR, 18 RBI and a 1.266 OPS. He's batting
.341 (14-for-41) when he's in the starting lineup.
