摘要:The purpose of this talk is to introduce some basic concepts of
multilevel model. Multilevel modeling technique has been a fast growing
analytical technique in the past two decades. It is a statistical
technique used to handle hierarchically structured data. Data are
hierarchically, or multilevel, structured if they are obtained from
sources which are nested, or from subjects who can be clustered in
higher order units. For example, data obtained from students who can
be grouped in classes, or schools, are considered multilevel data.
Convention statistical approaches which assume observations are
independent are not appropriate to analyze multilevel structured data.
It is a power analytical technique to account for variations of units
at different levels.
