Hi, I suppose that most people don’t know who I am so I wish to let everyone
know a little bit about me before the dinner.
My name is Andy Yeh, and I am a candidate for the current presidential
elections for the National Taiwan University Overseas Chinese Student
Association (NTUOCSA). I was born in Kaohsiung and moved to Port Elizabeth,
South Africa when I was 6 months old. I've lived in Atlanta, Georgia
and Detroit, Michigan for a total of three years, from grade 8 to grade 10,
and then I graduated from Grey High School back in Port Elizabeth,
and came back to Taiwan. At the current moment, I’m a first year
mechanical engineering student at NTU. I’ve traveled a lot,
and am very open to different types of cultures.
I wish to be president of this association because I hope to be able to
improve the association in multiple aspects:
1. More activities and events to improve constant participation from
members of the association.
2. Improve communication and interaction between members of the
association, other associations as well as local Taiwan students.
3. Improve notification and information system for members.
4. Allow members to help decide and give suggestions for the student
association and its activities.
I have discussed with Fisher Fu, a candidate for next year’s president of
NTU student affairs about possible interaction from the student affairs
committee next year. I wish to continue the activities and events that
occurred this year, but also hopefully add in a few more activities
as well as involve other NTU students in some of these events.
By doing so, we'll be able to communicate and interact more with
the students. This is also a good chance for us to understand
Taiwanese culture better, and also allow NTU students to understand
us overseas Chinese and international cultures even better.
Thank you and I hope for your support!
-Andy Yeh
