UConn has become the first FBS program to suspend its football season due to
the COVID-19 pandemic.
康乃迪克大学(UConn)成为今年第一只因为新冠肺炎疫情，而决定暂停今年美式足球

UConn left the American Athletic Conference last month and were expected to
play as an independent in 2020.
UConn在上个月正式离开了“美国运动联会”(简称The American)，今年原先打算以

运动则加入了不打美足的Big East。
"After receiving guidance from state and public health officials and
consulting with football student-athletes, we've decided that we will not
compete on the gridiron this season," UConn athletic director David Benedict
said in a news release. "The safety challenges created by COVID-19 place our
football student-athletes at an unacceptable level of risk."
