It’s doubtful Houston would put Amen Thompson on the table but would a combina
tion of other young talent (Jabari Smith Jr., Reed Sheppard, Tari Eason) and hig
h value draft capital intrigue Brad Stevens? Fred VanVleet is also a potential s
alary matching weapon here. It’s easy to envision the Rockets making a real off
er for Brown or White with these assets.

ssets. Austin Ainge talked spoke bluntly about the team moving away from their t
anking tendencies the last couple years. With landing big-name free agents being
a tough sell for Utah always, would they overpay for Brown knowing that he’s u
nder contract for the next four years. There’s not a lot of compelling young ta
lent on the roster so the No. 5 overall pick along with high-value future draft
picks would probably be the big prize here in any competitive offer. The Jazz ow
n all their own future draft picks and have future first round picks from Clevel
and, Minnesota, LA Lakers and the Suns (2031 unprotected).

entered around Brown, Tatum and White is the team’s best option. However, the r
estrictions of the new CBA in building around two supermax salaries combined wit
h Tatum’s injury makes it imperative that the Celtics examine all potential pat
hs moving forward right now. With more teams getting aggressive with big offers
in recent years, the Celtics could be in position to take advantage this week if
a team decides to overpay.
