Saturday’s United States-France Olympic men’s basketball final averaged
19.5 million viewers across NBC and Peacock, marking the largest audience for
an Olympic basketball gold medal game since 1996 (25.8M), per a combination
of Nielsen fast-nationals and Adobe Analytics. With a streaming audience of
2.7 million per Adobe Analytics, the Nielsen-only figure would come in around
16.8 million, still the highest since 1996.

this year’s Iowa-South Carolina NCAA women’s basketball national title game
on ABC, ESPN and ESPN Deportes (18.9M). (On a Nielsen-only basis, the
Iowa-South Carolina game comes out ahead.)
