Asked an agent this morning what happens with restricted free agents now.
Response: "Unless a sign-and-trade looks possible, you have a conversation
about the qualifying offer and unrestricted free agency next season."
I also asked for an opinion on Dennis Schroder and the answer was: "I'm
always honest with our players. Sometimes they don't want to hear it, but not
everyone is getting the max. Sometimes it's best to take the offer.
Otherwise, you can end up here with no one left to pay you."
