“It’s a sad day for all of us who knew Jerry Sloan. Not only on the
basketball court but, more importantly, as a human being. He was genuine and
true. And that is rare.

He was a mentor for me from afar until I got to know him. A man who
suffered no fools, he possessed a humor, often disguised, and had a heart as

大家都知道波波从不讲场面话的，但稀有甚至可说唯独对教皇一直以来都相当尊崇，
不只一次说自己一直都在学习教皇，胜场数超过教皇时也谦称跟他不是同一个等级的，
说过早期马刺就是学自爵士来建立球队文化，也说过他不看影片就是听了教皇的话，
教皇从主帅位置退下来后，他还曾亲自邀请至马刺看看，希望给予一点建议。
以他的级别，这当然是太谦虚了，但参考是肯定的，推崇也是毫无疑问的，
身为彼此少有公开交情的主帅老友，想必他也是真的很难过。

But, upon living in Utah, I became acutely aware of just how much he truly
meant to the state.
