As one of the best players in the NBA, and the new face of the Lakers, it’s
a wonder why L.A. superstar Anthony Davis has yet to be given his own
signature shoe.

As is usually a given with big-name stars (especially in Los Angeles), it
seems as though Davis has been left out of the tradition of having a shoe
line to call his own. In a piece from Brett Dawson of The Athletic, Matt
Powell, a senior sports industry adviser at the NPD Group, he explained why.
通常大明星球员(尤其是在洛杉矶)传统上都会有个鞋款是有他名字的，但是似乎AD像是被

“Every 12-year-old kid thinks he can be Steph Curry,” Powell said. “There
aren’t a lot of 12-year-old kids who think they can be Anthony Davis. The
big men tend not to sell a lot of shoes. That’s just a truism of the
industry.”
“每个12岁小孩都认为他可以变成Steph Curry，”Powell说。“不是有很多12岁的小孩会

“You look at a guy like Curry with the quick smile and the boyish face and
the assassin’s shot, and he’s got the total package,” Powell says. “
LeBron is the face of the Nike brand. Harden has his own style and
personality. Davis while he’s on the court is an amazing athlete, but I would
’t call him a particularly marketable personality.”

Davis’ lack of marketability actually makes some sense. Despite his
dominance on the court, and the location of his team, the Brow isn’t really
someone people can relate to. He’s a 6-10, 253-pound big man who blocks
shots, plays around the rim, and muscles his way on the boards.
AD在市场上没有卖点是可以说的通的，尽管他在场上表现杰出以及他所在的球队位置，但

So, with that in mind, it doesn’t seem likely that AD will get his own
signature shoe anytime soon. But we can always dream, right?
