Report: Pelicans pick up 2020-21 option on coach Alvin Gentry

The New Orleans Pelicans have reportedly picked up the team option of head
coach Alvin Gentry for the 2020-2021 season, according to Malika Andrews of
ESPN.
根据ESPN的Malika Andrews报导，鹈鹕据报执行总教练Alvin Gentry的2020-21年的选择
权。
Gentry has been with the Pelicans since 2015. He has a regular season record
of 145-183 and a playoff record of 5-4 with New Orleans.

5-4。
It’s a new era in New Orleans, as the Pelicans have reportedly traded
superstar big man Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Pelicans will
now be building their team and franchise around Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram,
Josh Hart, Jrue Holiday and the three first round picks they acquired from
the Lakers in the Davis trade.

New Orleans is going to draft Duke high-flyer Zion Williamson with the No. 1
overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. The Pelicans also have the No. 4 pick. If
they keep it, New Orleans could select either Texas Tech’s Jarrett Culver,
Virginia’s De’Andre Hunter or Vanderbilt’s Darius Garland.

Lottery. It seems like Griffin wants to see what Gentry can do with the new
nucleus of players coming to The Big Easy. We’ll see if Gentry can get the
Pelicans back to the playoffs next season with his new set of players.
