played after getting poked in the eye

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr sure has some jokes. The
53-year-old coach came up with a totally hilarious response when asked about
his experience with playing through an eye injury. His response was nothing
short of comedic gold:
Reporter: "Have you ever played after getting poked in the eye?"
Warriors' Steve Kerr: "No. It's tough to get poked in the eye when you're on
the bench cheering. I was usually just cheering the guys on. One time I think
my teammate elbowed me and it kind of hurt."
Kerr
For some context, this question was raised in reference to the injury
sustained by Houston Rockets superstar James Harden on Tuesday. The reigning
MVP took multiple shots to the face, which caused lacerations on both of his
eyes. Being the hard-nosed player that he is, Harden still played through the
injury and would finish Houston’s 115-109 defeat with a team-high 29 points
(on 9-of-19 shooting), three 3-pointers, seven rebounds, four assists, and a
steal.
