Draymond Green's gift of gab has once again paid off in the form of another Al
l-NBA talent electing to join him in the Bay Area.
Four-time All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins has reportedly agreed to the join t
he reigning champion Golden State Warriors for the taxpayer mid-level exceptio
n, with Golden State's recruitment reportedly led by his good friend in Green,
league sources told Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.
Warriors general manager Bob Myers also played an important role, while head c
oach Steve Kerr had a "positive" phone call with Cousins to help close the dea
l, which reportedly developed "fairly quickly" on Monday.
In fact, Golden State reportedly didn't entirely believe Cousins was even inte
rested in joining at first.
Green has teamed with Boogie in the past for USA Basketball, capturing a gold
medal at the 2016 Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Fellow Warriors Kevi
n Durant and Klay Thompson were also a part of that roster.
After the Warriors blew a 3-1 series lead in the 2016 Finals, Green sat in the
parking garage at Oracle Arena and made a recruitment call to Durant, who wen
t on to join the Warriors two weeks later on a max deal.
