"Due to limited roster flexibility and other financial considerations, Chuck
Hayes will not be signing with the Rockets as previously announced," wrote
Calvin Andrews to Yahoo. "Chuck is very interested in continuing his playing
career although he has received multiple offers to accept NBA coaching/front
office jobs.
"Chuck's near future plans are to go into a coaching/front office career,
however, Hayes has spent a lot of time preparing and training for this
upcoming season. Many observers have said he looks in better shape than he
has in years.
