After spending the holiday weekend with his “dawgs,” the NBA star was
headed back to Washington on Tuesday afternoon via an American Airlines
flight when a verbal altercation broke out inside the aircraft between the
Wall camp and an unnamed passenger, as first reported by TMZ.
The flight crew grew concerned and contacted the police stationed at McCarran
International Airport to have Wall and friends removed, according to Michael
Rodriguez, a public information officer in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police
Department.
"All we were there to do was facilitate that,” said Rodriguez. No arrests
were made. The officers on the scene deemed that no crime had been committed,
but Wall and Co. were removed from the flight “without incident” and did
not rejoin the commercial flight, added Rodriguez.
The Washington Wizards had no comment about the oral kerfuffle. John Wall
also had no comment, as reported by Washington Post sports reporter Jorge
Castillo.
Rodriguez did not know what the argument was about and how many complaining
passengers were involved. But it as it turns out, escorting people off of
planes is no biggie in Vegas. That type of thing happens every day, multiple
times a day.
“There’s nothing remarkable or notable about this case,” said Rodriguez.
Except of course for Wall’s name.
