Cavs Hire Boylan, Brielmaier, Drew, Posey As Assistant Coaches

The Cleveland Cavaliers have finalized their coaching staff and named Jim
Boylan, Bret Brielmaier, Larry Drew and James Posey as assistant coaches on
head coach David Blatt’s staff.
骑士队在正式迎来前灰狼球星Kevin Love的同时，也在几天前公布了他们今年的助教团
名单，除了去年就加入球队的Jim Boylan(前公牛、公鹿教练)与Bret Brielmaier(前
马刺球赛录影负责人)外，还新添入了前公鹿总教练Larry Drew，与俄亥俄当地出身退
役球员James Posey两人。
They join Tyronn Lue, who was named associate head coach earlier this summer.
不过他们的官阶都没有新加入的退役矮后卫Tyronn Lue来得高，Lue不但是骑士首席助教，
而且在骑士的职称还被命名为“associate head coach”。这点应该与骑士新任总教练
David Blatt刚从欧洲回来，对美国目前篮球生态比较不熟有关。
注：“associate head coach”这个职称虽然在NBA相关网站上比较少见，但也不算是
特别稀有的词，主要是球队总教练在联盟经验或制定战术能力比较不够时，AHC可以提
供进一步的协助，近期的AHC其他案例包括尼克用此职务聘请Kurt Rambis协助Derek
Fisher、Tom Thibodeau之前在赛尔提克与Doc Rivers的合作模式。
Phil Handy will also serve as Director of Player Development and Assistant
Coach, along with Vitaly Potapenko, who has been tabbed to continue as the
team’s Assistant Director of Player Development.
Mike Brown回锅骑士时从湖人挖角的Phil Handy，除了继续担任助教外，也将兼任球员
发展部门的负责人，而他的助手则是曾在骑士效力过的乌克兰长人Vitaly Potapenko。
