Paul Pogba and David de Gea good vs Granada
Man United beat Granada in the Europa League quarter-finals and here are how
the players rated.
David de Gea - 8
His most impressive contribution was a perfectly clipped pass to Aaron
Wan-Bissaka in the first-half. Good point-blank save late on.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka - 6
There was a moment where, if United had a proactive right-back, they might have
been played in for a go at goal. But Wan-Bissaka remains reluctant.
Victor Lindelof - 7
Usually, Lindelof is barely audible but he was in the absence of Dean Henderson
and Harry Maguire. Embraced senior status.
Axel Tuanzebe - 7
A steady return on his first start since January, helped by the guidance of
Lindelof. Kept composed whenever under pressure.
Alex Telles - 6
Proactively supported Paul Pogba down the left and was not quite as
adventuruous without him after the pause. Assisted late own goal.
Fred - 6
Pressed purposefully to push United higher up the pitch but his shooting was
back to normal.
Nemanja Matic - 6
Perceptively teed up Bruno Fernandes, was prudent with the ball and not always
risk-aversive. A much-needed run-out.
Mason Greenwood - 6
Got into auspicious openings but his execution was often awry. Should have
converted Donny van de Beek's cross.
Bruno Fernandes - 6
Volleyed a half-chance over and bungled other good openings. Pointlessly played
on beyond the 70-minute mark.
Paul Pogba - 8
The headed assist for Edinson Cavani was deliberate and just as technically
proficient. Harshly booked and in talismanic form again. Sensibly substituted
at the pause.
Edinson Cavani - 7
A fine finish for his second goal in as many games to ensure smooth passage
through to the semi-finals. Could have had a second.
Subs
Donny van de Beek - 6
Picked out Greenwood brilliantly, who should have earned Van de Beek an assist.
Daniel James - 5
Energetic but created nought.
Juan Mata - 6
A classy cameo.
Brandon Williams - 5
Came on for the final 10 minutes.
Amad - 6
Needed more time to impress.
Manager
Solskjær - 7
The strong team selection was justified and removing Pogba at half-time was
wise. Fernandes should have come off sooner and Amad gone on sooner.
