Donny van de Beek - 7 Wasn’t heavily involved until creating Mata’s second goal with a stylish flick. That showed how dangerous he can be in the advanced role. Juan Mata - 8 (马叔连两场联赛杯入球!!! An outstanding performance. Created the first goal and scored the second, although he was involved in the build-up three or four times as well. Daniel James - 5 Drifted out of the game after a bright start. Played in his favoured position on the left but didn’t find it easy. Odion Ighalo - 5 Lost his balance when presented with a good first-half chance and didn’t offer much of a presence in attack. Subs Paul Pogba - 7 Planted a header wide when he could have scored but added some poise in midfield when United were under pressure. Fortuitously found the net with a deflected free-kick that was going wide. Marcus Rashford - 6 Stretched the play in a centre forward pitch which immediately gave United more space to play in. Jesse Lingard - 6 Brief cameo, didn't have much time to influence proceedings. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer - 7 Made changes once again but wasn't afraid to use a strong bench to go and kill the game.
