Sergio Romero - 6
Made a string of vital saves as his good Europa League form continued. Become
edgier and nervier as the game wore on.
Antonio Valencia - 5
Was barracked by his manager over his positioning seconds before Anderlecht
had their first clear-cut chance. Strangely subdued.
Eric Bailly - 5
A misunderstanding with Marcos Rojo gifted Anderlecht an excellent chance and
he looked even more uncomfortable after the Argentinian went off.
Marcos Rojo - 5
Had to withdraw early in the first-half through injury and his decision not
to go off sooner almost cost United but for Romero's save.
Luke Shaw - 6
Eager in attack but went missing too often in defence during the first-half.
Mourinho was happier to have him within earshot after the pause.
Michael Carrick - 5
Regressed after impressing in Brussels. Nondescript and timid, he was a
significant downgrade on Ander Herrera's energy at the weekend. Presence
improved in extra-time.
Paul Pogba - 6
Slicker and prompter with the ball, he took over the talisman mantle from
Zlatan Ibrahimovic but missed a sitter and faded after the first-half of
regulation time.
Jesse Lingard - 6
Back on the wing but endeavoured to offer creativity centrally. Complemented
United's other forwards enterprisingly.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan - 6
The Armenian now has 10 goals in 22 games for United. Bright but lax in
possession, his creativity and drive were not matched by his foil
Ibrahimovic.
Marcus Rashford - 9 (!!!!!!)
Showed good composure to assist Mkhitaryan's opener as his superb form
continued back on the left flank. Did more damage up front during another
remarkable performance.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic - 2 (冏)
He played with all the mobility of his Stockholm statue. A static liability,
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Mourinho scolded him for dropping too deep and wasting possession.
Subs
Daley Blind - 3
Culpable for Anderlecht's goal and nervy.
Marouane Fellaini - 6
Introduction sparked improvement.
Anthony Martial - 5
Allowed Rashford to move up front.
