Mets GM Sandy Alderson to take a leave of absence to address cancer return
梅子总管Alderson因癌症复发请假
New York Mets general manager Sandy Alderson is taking a leave of absence to
address his personal health, effective immediately, the Mets announced
Tuesday.
纽约梅子队星期二宣布，总管Alderson即日起因为健康因素开始请假。
Alderson, 70, described the "recurrence of cancer" as the main reason for his
decision to leave.
70岁的Alderson说是因为癌症复发的因素决定请假。
"My health is an uncertainty going forward. Based on the merits, I'm not sure
if coming back is warranted," Alderson said.
“我的健康状况不是很稳定，所以基于实际状况，我不确定我还会不会回来，”Alderson
说。
In December 2015, Alderson missed baseball's winter meetings to begin an
eight-to-12-week chemotherapy treatment for what the club described as a
"treatable" form of cancer. He said he will have surgery later this summer.
2015年12月，Alderson就因为需要接受8-12周的化学治疗而请假，球团那时候说Alderson

John Ricco, J.P. Ricciardi and Omar Minaya will share the role in his
absence.

Alderson was hired after the 2010 season to replace Minaya. Since then, the
Mets are 582-628, including two postseason appearances along with an NL East
title and World Series appearance in 2015.

The 2018 campaign got off to a great start with new manager Mickey Calloway.

matter of 10 weeks in the National League East.
