San Francisco Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval established a new franchise
record Wednesday night, and it’s a distinction he’d rather not have.
Sandoval struck out looking in the top of the sixth inning in Wednesday’s
game against the Colorado Rockies, making him hitless in his last 38 at-bats.
Sandoval’s 0-for-38 streak is now the longest in the franchise’s history
since arriving in San Francisco in 1958. The previous record-holder was
Johnnie LeMaster, who was hitless in 37 consecutive at-bats during the 1984
season.
