The man Yankees fans affectionately call The Captain is reportedly set to tie
the knot with girlfriend and swimsuit model Hannah Davis.
According to reports, longtime bachelor Derek Jeter proposed to girlfriend
Hannah Davis, but the couple has not made their news public, or set a date
for the wedding.
Jeter and Davis have kept their relationship out of the public eye, but have
been linked to each other since 2012. The pair has been spotted on red
carpets over the years, including the 2015 Met Gala in New York City and
others.
After 20 years playing for the New York Yankees, Derek Jeter, 41, retired
from baseball after the 2014 season. His impact on the game was felt far
beyond the legions of Yankee fans that watched him play, and he is widely
regarded among the greatest players and shortstops in baseball history.
Since his retirement, Jeter has made only a few sporadic appearances at
Yankee Stadium, insisting he hasn't missed the day-to-day grind, and that
he's looking forward to the family life.
"There are many things I want to do in business and philanthropic work, in
addition to focusing more on my personal life and starting a family of my
own," Jeter wrote in his retirement announcement letter. "I want to finally
stop the chase and take in the world.'
Davis, 25, is a highly accomplished fashion model, and most recently graced
the cover of Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue in 2015.
During his retirement, Jeter has voiced his desire to continue working with
his charitable organization, the Turn 2 Foundation, while enjoying the world
after spending more than two decades devoting his time to a hall of fame
career with the New York Yankees.
