"Today, the shoulder is the pitcher's most precarious joint,
and two studies this year seek to provide answers about a
procedure that proponents say could increase the success rate
of surgery for labrum injuries known as SLAP tears (Superior
Labrum Anterior to Posterior).
In the procedure, the biceps tendon is cut away from the
shoulder and attached with a screw to the humerus (upper
arm) bone. It's known as a biceps tenodesis."
