我做了一个IELTS模拟考题
阅读有一题的内文是:
Be advised that, due to the risk of viruses, students are not allowed to bring
in and use their own disks or CDs.(in computer room)
题目是
students may not use their own floppy discs in the school's computers
T or F, or Not given
我写F 因为内文不是说不可以带吗 可是题目是 may not, 那不就是也有可能有可以的时候
但是答案是 T
请大家指正我吧!!! 是我判断错误吗??

在里的may要当可不可以来理解 Ex May I have a seat?"我可不可以坐下？"

学生可能无法使用...(礼貌性用法，属于委婉语气)

May not就是不行的意思May not is used for permission mostly in a formal style. May not = refuse permission &forbid和可不可能没有关系~

其实就是may = 可 may not =不可不可跟可以不的差别

想顺便问问，如果说把语气翻译至文内用"可能无法"是不是会有所不妥?因cannot与may not差异，要如何翻译比较恰当?原始想法是问:"请问可不可....?"答:"很抱歉，可能无法...。"因之前常翻译文章，所以想说是否有更好翻译方式，再麻烦大家解答(^__^)

我会翻不该cannot 不能 shouldnot 不应 maynot不该好吧好像有点应凑 我自己除非原文有在强调比较以上不然应该是会翻的差不多
