Thousands of mostly young protesters surrounded Taiwan’s legislature late
into the night on Tuesday, protesting a push by opposition parties to subject
the island’s new leader and his administration to tighter scrutiny from a
parliament controlled by lawmakers who favor closer ties to China.

这篇开头是在讲521立法院外集会抗议在野党强势推动立法的事情，
文末还强调在野党的倾中国立场，很奇怪，因为台湾政论似乎没有很强调这一点。
其中"protesting a push"的 push 当名词，是指推动立法的这个行为吗？
还有"to subject the island's new leader and hist administration to tighter
scrutiny.." 当中的 subjetc 当动词比较少见，是使对方服从、纳入管制的意思。
而 scrutiny 则是审查、监督的意思。
