Han Kuo-yu was elected Mayor of Kaohsiung, Taiwan, in November 2018, becoming
the first member of the Kuomintang (KMT) to hold that office since 1998. He
served as a member of the Legislative Yuan from Taipei County from 1993-2002,
and later became the general manager of the Taipei Agricultural Products
Marketing Corporation.
Mr. Han graduated from Soochow University (Taipei) with a degree in English
literature, and earned a master’s degree in law from National Chengchi
University’s Graduate Institute of East Asian Studies.
