台湾网友3月18日在“美国白宫请愿网站”发起的1项连署反对两岸签署服贸协议的请愿案
（Oppose Trade Agreement Between Taiwan and China），在突破11万8630份连署后，
白宫回复表示，美国支持台湾民主，尊重台湾人对服贸协议未来的决定，并希望以和平与
理性的方式讨论。白宫重申，美国支持两岸和平发展，坚决反对两岸任何一方以片面的手
法改变现状。
不过，网友j68345517在PTT回应，“结果什么都没有说 ?”；网友jackhg则说：“罐头回
覆不意外”；还有网友APUDOOR批评，“我小学英文都比白宫回应文好”。

Response to We the People Petition on Taiwan
The United States supports Taiwan's vibrant democracy, which allows for
robust political dialogue on a range of issues. The future of the
Cross-Strait Trade in Services Agreement is an issue for the people on Taiwan
to decide. We hope the discussion can be conducted peacefully and civilly.
As a policy matter, maintenance of peace and stability across the Taiwan
Strait is in the political, security, and economic interest of the United
States. We support peaceful resolution of cross-Strait differences in a
manner acceptable to people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, and we are
opposed to any effort to resolve cross-Strait differences through
intimidation, coercion, or military force.
