Forcing TSMC to invest more in the U.S. does little to improve national
security.
As long as the TSMC IP stays in Taiwan, if the country were attacked, we
would have no next node in the U.S, but China would have it. US-based TSMC
foundries would be stuck in time. The clock would stop. I’d rather have half
the $TSM IP engineers on the US than another foundry.
It would be like in the space race if we had the rocket factories but not the
rocket engineers from Germany. We would have factories but nothing to build.
强迫台积电在美国投资更多，对提升国家安全根本没什么帮助。
只要台积电的智慧财产权留在台湾，万一台湾被攻击，美国那边就没有下一代制程了
，但中国却会拿到。到时候设在美国的台积电晶圆厂就会停摆，时间会停止。
我宁愿把一半的台积电 IP 工程师弄到美国去，也不要再盖一座晶圆厂。
这就好比当年在太空竞赛时，我们有火箭工厂，却没有德国的火箭工程师一样。
我们会有工厂，但什么都造不出来。
