The recall campaign has been happening against a backdrop of China ramping up
its own military and diplomatic pressure campaign against Taiwan to assert

这场罢免行动发生的背景是中国加强其对台湾的军事与外交施压，以主张其领土声索，而
台湾坚决予以拒绝。

In a post on Facebook citing the Reuters report and research by Taiwan's
IORG, which analyses Chinese state media reports, Taiwan's Mainland Affairs
Council said it "rejects the Chinese Communist Party's intervention".
台湾陆委会在脸书上引用路透社报导及台湾IORG（一个分析中国官媒报导的研究机构）的
研究指出：“我们拒绝中国共产党的干预。”陆委会表示：“中国共产党企图干预台湾
民主运作的行为，已经相当明显且清楚。”“罢免在台湾是由宪法保障的公民权利，应
由台湾人民自行决定谁该被罢免、谁不该被罢免。”
中国国台办并未回应媒体的置评请求，也未对路透社上周所提有关罢免案及中国是否意图
干预其结果的提问作出回应。
