It could very likely be factual that the Chinese government is illegally
taking organs from its people. However, the fact that Mr. Gutmann is willing
to lie on tiny details in order to straighten his story and sell his books is
unsettling. It does bother me as I realize that he has absolutely no regard
to verifiable facts and only aims to acquire fame (and maybe money comes
along) when he accused Dr. Wen-je Ko of being actively involved in illegal
organ harvest without any physical or circumstantial evidence. Things like
illegal organ harvest should definitely be exposed and condemned, but I
really hope it's not by Mr Gutmann as his lack of integrity would undermine
the credibility of a fact.

I believe that humanity issues are very important, and, I applaud the
author's effort to expose the (potential) horrible organ harvesting issues in
China. I used to respect such effort and believe the contents of the book.
However, the author jeopardizes the integrity and trustworthiness of this
book in his recent "promotion" event in Taiwan. In this event, the author
publicly accused a key witness in the book (Dr. Ko Wen-je) a liar. The author
did so without any concrete evidence other than the fact the Dr. Ko taught
the Chinese doctors how to use ECMO, a life-saving system. The author even
made some wild accusations that ECMO is somehow helpful for organ harvesting,
again without proper evidence.
I am extremely disappointed by the fact that the author makes serious
accusations and/or innuendos without any concrete evidence. The authors'
journalist discipline is questionable if the author makes statements without
concrete evidence. In addition, if the integrity of a key witness is a
"liar", what about the integrity of the book?
Organ harvesting is an extremely horrible issue and we should discuss this
issue very seriously. The author jeopardizes the credibility of the book by
making questions statements. As a believer in humanity issues, I'm very
disappointed.
It's either the author is a liar or...I personally know his named witness and
I believe the author is a liar. The author might have got a great topic but
he is just a lousy writer and a totally unprofessional reporter.
I do believe in humanity and am against illegal organ harvest. But the
"alleged" Nobel Prize Nominee is fully lack of logic. His book is largely
about interviewing and investigating, however most of them are from anonymous
sources. Dr. Ko is the only named doctor he interviewed and willing to be
responsible to his words. Now the author accused Dr. Ko as a liar. If so,
then his book is nothing but a pile of hearsay, yet the most trustworthy
hearsay is from a liar from the author's words. Hmm.. interesting. How about
the credibility of the book?
