Singles prefer dating others of the same ethnicity, according to new research.

People aren't looking for love outside their ethnicity, according to a new study that shows that online daters are significantly more likely to respond to matches of the same ethnicity.

Researchers said this is puzzling because nearly all users on the dating site OkCupid said they support interracial relationships.
The study, which involved over 3 million OkCupid members, also found that women are significantly more likely than men to prefer partners within their own race.

Christian Rudder, co-founder and chief executive of the online dating site, noted that the findings don't show that people are racist.
"An individual can't really control who turns them on. I do think the fact that race is a sexual factor for so many and in such a consistent way, raises deeper questions," said Rudder, according to the Daily Mail.
The study did find some exceptions. Researchers found that black men preferred Hispanic women and both Asian and Hispanic women preferred white suitors to others of their own ethnicity.
