Should The Teacher Teach More Than Fundamental Subject?
Students nowadays have many creative thoughts. It is hard to get students'
attention or arouse their interest. However, some may think that using the
original ways to teach is the only process to let students learn. Is it true?
I would like to divide teacher nowadays into normal and creative, two sorts
of teachers. The normal teacher would only teach the things in the textbook,
after teaching what's in the textbook, the teacher just stop teaching. It
is not wrong for those teachers, since they did teach the students what they
should learn. However, the creative teachers would teach students in a more
creative way. For example, if the students are interested in singing, the
teacher can create a rap to help students memorize some things that need to
be memorized, such as the table of Chinese Dynasties. However, these teacher
should spend more time than the normal teacher to make the class more
vibrant.
Next, comparing to normal teachers, the attentive ones are willing to spend
more time on students. The normal teachers may help students about the
schoolworks, however, they think other problems were none of their business.
On the contrary, the attentive teachers will like to help students about
not only schoolworks but also the everyday problems, such as their eating
problems, or family problems. It seems that these problems have nothing to
do with schoolworks, but I think that these problems do affect their
class performance.
To sum up, there is no right or wrong to be a normal teacher or an aggressive
teacher. However, in my opinion, the teacher should be willing to teach
students in a more positive way. Instead of seeing it as a daily job, teachers
should regard this job as a place to cultivate excellent people in the future.
