His studies of ice-polished rocks in his Alpine
homeland, far outside the range of present-day
glaciers, led Louis Agassiz in 1837 to propose the
concept of an age in which great ice sheets had
existed in now currently temperate areas.
(A) in which great ice sheets had existed in now
currently temperate areas
(B) in which great ice sheets existed in what are
now temperate areas
(C) when great ice sheets existed where there were
areas now temperate
(D) when great ice sheets had existed in current
temperate areas
(E) when great ice sheets existed in areas now that
are temperate
OA is (B)
请问关于(B),句中what不是等于the things that吗?
这里things指的应该就是areas,那么句末的ares不就是多余的吗?
此外关于(C),OG解释这句wordy and confusing,我的认知是,
where = in which,而which指的是areas,所以句末的areas就显得wordy,
不知道这样解释对不对。
谢谢大家!
