Manchester United did not know that a police report had been filed
against Antony for allegedly assaulting a woman more than three months before
they signed him.
Despite conducting due diligence on Antony, Manchester United was unaware of
the police report.
Manchester United says it carried out due diligence on Antony, as with all
transfer options, before signing him, but that investigations revealed no
evidence of domestic violence allegations or police involvement relating to
the player.
