我手头的 The New Oxford American Dictionary 的音标表只有 /ə/，没有 /ʌ/，因
为这本字典是将这两个音合并在一起用同一个符号表示。同样作法的字典还有 World
Book Online, Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary 等等字典:
