你那样改 文法是错的

通常"A子句,but B子句" or "A句子. But B句子."A句子不是重点，作者强调的是B句子;所以你没写的A句子出现了，现在的But some of....必须句意和文法都是完整的句子，就是句号结束；这句话作者写a competition不是要跟前面句子相反，是为了再进一步解释说明前面提到的Masquerade,所以不能独立成句子，要用子句形式"N + that 子句"方式说明Masquerade
