I love reading English novels.
Speaking of works that I like, The Great Gatsby will always take a
place on my list. (Also, I like Robert Fagles's translation
of Iliad for the grandeur of the great epic)
I was quite astounded upon reading the first
sentence as Fitzgerald wrote-
"In my younger and more vulnerable years my father gave
some advice that I've been turning over in my mind ever since."
Somehow, I was like "How could he write such sentence?!"
It was a great experience for me to read Fitzgerald's work.
Maybe native speakers of English won't have the same feeling as me,
and undoubtedly, I'm a substantially worse writer than F. Scott Fitzgerald
so I admire his writing technique for no reason.
So far, reading novels is still the best recreation for me
aside from basketball and some video games.
Seldom does watching TV be my choice.
Sometimes, I even hate watching TV.
I believe that everyone is bombarded with the news about certain person.
As a media audience, I really don't want to see such stuff all the time
because it does not matter for me to some extent.
What we need is significant news like whether there is a policy going
into effect, some acts which will be amended, or any other things that
will directly affect our life rather than sensational, gossip, or
even celebrity news. Com'on! I'm completely sick of news like that and
that full of ideology.
Well, end of complaints.
Woe! My Spring Break ends tomorrow.
Actually, I did not do anything special within the past 9 days.
I eventually bought a pair of running shoes that I like, I
finished reading Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep and the assigned
excerpt of Robinson Crusoe, almost completed our CDA assignment, and.....
Nothing.
Darn it! My Spring Break is gone like Cordelia and Lear.
SOOO SAAAAAAD!
And I lost much ptt money on the gambling.
Arbitrage no longer guarantees earnings.
Alright, gotta continue with the translation project with my teammates.
