Tuchel reports 'no fresh injuries' but admits defender is a doubt for Burnley
04 Mar 2022
Cesar Azpilicueta remains a doubt for our Premier League trip to Burnley
this weekend, although Thomas Tuchel has reported no fresh injury concerns
following the midweek FA Cup win at Luton Town.

The Chelsea skipper missed the visit to Kenilworth Road having been
withdrawn prematurely during the Carabao Cup final and also missed team
training on Thursday, leading Tuchel to conclude that he would be unlikely
to feature on our return to league action at Turf Moor.
Speaking at his customary pre-match press conference ahead of the game,
with members of the media in the room at Cobham for the first time in
almost two years, the boss responded to questions about team news prior to
our final training session of the week later today.
'We have no fresh injuries,' stated Tuchel. 'I still have to talk to the
fitness coaches and the doctors after this press conference.

Azpilicueta is unlikely to feature against Burnley, according to Tuchel
'Azpi was not in training yesterday so this will be a bit too close
unfortunately for him.'
However, there was better news to report on the fitness of the wider
group, with Hakim Ziyech and Reece James looking stronger in recent days.
Meanwhile, some of those who were absent in midweek had returned and
should be in contention to feature against Burnley.
'Hakim was in training yesterday and seems good so hopefully he can come
back,' added Tuchel. 'Reece James also did training so no problems or
reactions so far after his two matches.

'The guys who were not with us in Luton Town because of minor injuries
like Trevoh Chalobah and Thiago Silva were back in training yesterday and
seem fine so good to go.'
