Following the Champions League final, Chelsea Football Club has exercised
an option to extend Thiago Silva's contract by one year, taking his time
at Stamford Bridge into a second season.

in the competition at the age of 36, and his professionalism and
commitment to the cause throughout his first year at the club has already
made him a popular figure with the Blues faithful.
