Lampard adds coach to his backroom staff

Frank Lampard has increased his backroom team ahead of the 2020/21 season,
by appointing Anthony Barry as men's first-team coach.

The former Everton trainee arrives at Stamford Bridge from Wigan, where he
had been working as a coach under fellow Liverpudlian, Paul Cook, before
his departure as Latics manager earlier this summer.
Barry links up with Lampard's Blues immediately and ahead of the new
season will work within the existing coaching set-up, which includes Jody
Morris, Joe Edwards and Chris Jones.
'I'm delighted to welcome Anthony to the club,' said Lampard on his new
appointment. 'He's an exciting young coach and someone I've known for a
while. I believe he will be a strong addition to the team.'

Barry gets straight to work at Cobham
Barry enjoyed a lengthy career as a hard-working midfielder in the
Football League which included two spells at Accrington Stanley, winning
the National League title in 2006.
The 34-year-old former midfielder also spent time with Yeovil, helping the
Glovers reach the League One play-off final in 2007 where they were
defeated by Blackpool.
An 18-month spell at Chester followed for Barry, before then signing for
rivals Wrexham. However, he left the Welsh side a week later without
making an appearance to join Fleetwood. He helped the Cod Army earn
back-to-back promotions to reach the Football League in 2012, playing
alongside Jamie Vardy who ended the season as top scorer and secured a
move to Leicester City.
After departing Fleetwood, Barry spent time with Forest Green Rovers
before returning to Accrington, initially on loan, and then Wrexham before
moving into coaching.
